Dear Friends,
Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of the European
Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs, the ECMC.
The ECMC was created 35 years ago by 6 clubs. In 2009, we are close
to 45 clubs all around Europe, from Iceland to Estonia and from
Norway to Italy. We put our energy together to organise events that
will attract visitors from our brother clubs and to create a
solidarity movement within our European Leather and BDSM
Community.
With the internet, the development of the commercial scene and the
liberalisation of legislation in most of our countries, the utility
of clubs such as ours is no longer evident. Even so, I believe that
many of us feel the need to socialise with people who share the
same lifestyle.
We should also be aware that the rights and freedom that we enjoy
today are not granted to us for ever. We should be vigilant and
conscious of the dangers (religious and political extremists, etc.)
that our lifestyle will face in the future and we must be prepared
for these challenges.
The ECMC is in no way a political organisation but it is an
organisation that shows the unity of our Leather and BDSM
Community. I would like to make mine the German national anthem
“Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit” (Unity and justice and freedom)
to make you understand that we need Unity to protect our Rights and
enjoy the Freedom to live our life according to our
lifestyle.
To conclude, I would like to stress the fact that this website is
not just a website for the delegates and for the club officials of
our respective clubs; it is also the website for all the members of
our clubs. So please, promote it as much as possible to all your
members. The more visitors we have, the better the events will be
promoted for the benefit of us all.
